Bio
I am an award-winning journalist and aspiring public relations professional passionate about creating innovative work that informs communities I serve. My specialties include strategic communications planning, news writing, digital analytics, business research and media relations.

Through my career in journalism, I discovered my interest in the education field as I worked alongside school administrators to share students’ stories and promote district-wide initiatives. I hope to combine my passions for writing and communications as a media or public relations professional for a school district, college or university.

Education
I earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and minors in business administration and English from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2016

In August 2018, I began my master's degree in public relations and corporate communications at Georgetown University. I completed the degree with a 4.0 GPA in December 2020.
Employment
I work a staff writer for the Acorn Newspapers, a family owned weekly newspaper group covering nine Southern California communities. As the only reporter for the Moorpark edition, I am responsible for all news related to the city including education, politics, crime, business and arts.

In addition to interviewing sources and writing stories, I manage the paper’s social media accounts and help design each edition of the publication using the Adobe Creative Suite.
